Basting Sauce:
1 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/2 large onion, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, smashed
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 pound butter (half this if doing pork)
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon red pepper (double if you like it hot)
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
